How to book:
- Book a headshot session without a makeup artist:
- To book a headshot session with a makeup artist:
- Book a portrait session:
- My studio is in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. Click here for a Google Maps link.
- You pay a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. For sessions with a makeup artist, this deposit is $200, for all other sessions, it’s $100. Of course the deposit goes towards the price of the session.
- You come to the session at my beautiful, big, air-conditioned studio in Santa Monica. Free off-street parking, rest rooms, water dispenser, coffee, makeup station, steamer, hair dryer.
- I am an easy person to work with, and I also have a silly accent — unlike you, you perfectly spoken actor. I’m also really good at taking pictures. I’ve done this over 6000 times, in London, New York and LA. And I’m called Wolf! You cannot lose.
- We will take anything between 80-200 shots per look.
- The shots will be available online for review latest by the evening of the following day.
- As an add-on, I can make you a shortlist of the best shots we take to help you choose your shots more quickly.
- You decide on which shots you’d like retouched.
- You receive the retouched images within 10 working days from the day you send me your choices.
- The retouched images are good to print and to submit to Backstage/Actors Access/IMDb/Deadline.
- And when we’re done, it’s three minutes to Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery, five minutes to McConnell’s Ice Creams on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade — and eight minutes to the beach.
- You can book a makeup artist for any of my sessions. Just let me know that you’d like a makeup artist at your session when you email me.
- The makeup artist’s fee is in addition to my session fee and is payable directly to them on the day.
- I only work with makeup artists I have vetted and who I know I can trust to be the best in the industry. They are all calm hands with lots of experience. We work well together and they know how to do makeup that works perfectly with my lighting.
- Rates
- Headshots by look (Women): $175 for one look + $25 each additional look; add hair +$50
- Headshots by look (Men): $150 for 1 look; + $25 each additional look; Hair is included — unless significant hair changes are required, in which case hair is +$50.
- The makeup artist will be there for the entirety of the session. So if you book a three-look session, the makeup artist’s fee is for three looks etc.
- For unlimited 1-hour sessions, makeup is charged as two looks; unlimited 1.5 hour sessions are charged as four looks, and anything above is charged the same flat fee as for portraits (see below). Hair is always +$50.
- Portraits Rate (Women): $300 flat fee; add hair +$50
- Portraits Rate (Men): $275 flat fee; Hair is included — unless significant hair changes are required, in which case hair is +$50.
- The makeup artist will be there for the entirety of the session.
- Hair: We will only do light hair in the studio. This means the makeup artist will work with your hair when it’s dry and clean: they can add a little curl, or a subtle wave, or flat iron to finish your hair. That’s normally all you’ll need for a headshot session. But no blowouts or fancy updos — they tend to take too much time, and the studio is not set up for washing hair. If you’d like to have only hair done (and don’t need a makeup artist), the best thing to do is to go to a hairdresser right before the session.
- These sessions take 20 minutes max, and cost $140. They do not include retouched shots, because the whole point with digitals is that they are absolutely natural and unretouched and show you exactly as you come through the door.
- If you’re booking an actors headshot session and also want digitals, select it as an add-on while you book.
- They’re a slightly different creative process. If you’d like to have some portrait style photographs as well as headshots, let me know and we’ll discuss it beforehand. (Read more here: Portraits vs headshots)

Unlimited Looks session vs Looks-based sessions:
Look-based sessions give us the time to make sure we get each look just right. When you arrive, we have about 15-20 minutes to get settled and discuss what we’re going to do, and then about 20 minutes per look. A one-look session takes about 40 minutes, a two-look session about 60 minutes. If you have a makeup artist present, there is additional time for her to change your looks, and there’s also more time to fine tune lighting and background choices.
With time-based sessions, it’s up to you how you’d like to work. You can knock out four to six looks in an hour if you are well-prepared and know what you want. Or you can have a relaxed session where you don’t worry about nailing down a million different looks, and where instead we explore different lighting, necklines and angles together to find some great and maybe entirely unexpected shots.

Deposit/Cancellations
When you book, you make a non-refundable deposit ($200 for sessions with makeup artist, $100 for all other sessions). This goes towards the price of the session. You can postpone once with this deposit, as long as you contact me five clear days before your session. If you need to postpone again, a new deposit is payable. If you cancel or postpone the session less than five clear days before your appointed time, you forfeit your deposit.
Payments:
The remaining session payment (session fee minus deposit) must be received on or before the day of the session. You can pay online via card, by Zelle or in cash. No checks.
Reshoots, refunds, revisions:
I take great care to communicate to you how I work before and during the shoot. We review shots as we go along. My entire process is cooperative and I keep checking with you that what we’re doing is working for you. Likewise, I expect you to share your needs and requirements clearly so we can get you the perfect shots. This concerns lighting, framing, backgrounds plus hair and makeup. Photographs are artistic creations and interpretation is subjective. Therefore, I do not offer reshoots, revisions or refunds other than for technical failures or malfunctions that prevent me from delivering the agreed upon number of technically proficient images in clear focus.
All the above is non-negotiable. No exceptions.
